Asheville Breaks Through for First Win in Division Series; Now Trails 2-1
The Asheville Moonshiners have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Buffalo Bisons, winning 10-6 at Torrance Grounds today. Moonshiners shortstop Greg Litton was named player of the game after he was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Moonshiners to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Division Series.

The Moonshiners took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. Facing Buffalo hurler Juan Nieves with one out, Litton hit a 2-run double.

"We're happy," Litton told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow. Slated to start are Mark Gardner for Buffalo and Willie Banks for Asheville.
