Storm Chasers Win to Extend Series Lead to 2-0
The Omaha Storm Chasers moved to within one game of the League Championship Series today, downing the visiting San Antonio Missions at Maples Stadium by a score of 7-3. Storm Chasers right-hander Pete J. Smith was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 9 innings of 7-hit ball. The win gives the Storm Chasers a 2-0 advantage in the best-of-5 Division Series.

Omaha took a 6-3 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out, left fielder David Justice hit a 3-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.

Justice attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."

The next game is set to be played Saturday at Texans Stadium. Slated to start are Clint Zavaras for the Omaha Storm Chasers and Jason Jacome for the the San Antonio Missions.
