Ayrault, Lazy Fisherman Wallop River Rats in Game 2 of DS
|
With catcher Joe Ayrault leading the charge, the Naperville Lazy Fisherman got a road win over the Spokane River Rats, 9-2, in Game 2 of the Division Series today. Ayrault went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 at Foxes Ballpark to help Naperville force a 1-1 tie in the best-of-5 series.
Naperville used the timely hitting of Dan Peltier to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lazy Fisherman on top, 5-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We were firing on all cylinders today," said Lazy Fisherman manager .
Game 3 is set to be played Saturday. The scheduled starters for the game are John Mitchell for the Spokane River Rats and Charles Nagy for the the Naperville Lazy Fisherman.
