Danville Wins at Home to Narrow Series Deficit to 3-2
The Danville Dairy Daddies have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Buffalo Bisons, winning 13-6 at Kernels Ballpark today. Dairy Daddies center fielder Midre Cummings was named player of the game after he was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. The win cuts the deficit facing the Dairy Daddies to 3-2 in the best-of-7 League Championship Series.

Marc Newfield had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the seventh for the Dairy Daddies. Coming up with the bases loaded and Danville trailing 6-5, he hit a 2-run single.

"This was a good win for us," said Cummings. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."

The next game is set to be played Wednesday, August 23rd, 1995 at Aspinwall Grounds. Slated to start are Oswaldo Peraza for the Danville Dairy Daddies and Dennis Springer for the the Buffalo Bisons.
