Twins Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Chicago
|
The 1995 season is getting ugly for Chicago.
The Minnesota Twins beat the Chicago White Sox, 8-4, at Comiskey Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Larry Walker, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a triple and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Pedro Astacio got credit for the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits in 6 innings.
Walker had a big at-bat with runners on 1st and 3rd in the top of the seventh inning, when he hit a 2-run triple. The Twins went on to win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Walker.
Chicago, at 8-19, is off to a poor start in 1995.
