Royals Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
|
Starting pitcher Mark Guthrie pitched well enough to help the Kansas City Royals beat the Minnesota Twins by the score of 6-4. It was the 19th win in 27 games this year for the defending champion Royals, who are picking up where they left off.
An impactful at-bat came in the bottom of the first inning. With a runner on 1st, the batter, Jim Thome, hit a 2-run home run. It made the score 2-0, Kansas City, and helped them go on to win.
"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Thome after the game.
