Victory Pushes Mets Record to 15-12
The New York Mets powered past the Baltimore Orioles, 10-5, at Shea Stadium. Bret Boone was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. The Orioles, now 8-18, continue their slow start.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Mets had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the third, when right fielder Sammy Sosa hit a 2-run triple. The triple came off Rod Nichols and made the score 4-0, Mets. Sosa went 1-4 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.

"I felt good up there," said Boone. "I saw the ball well."
