Milligan, Kansas City Start Division Series Strong with Home Win
The Kansas City Royals started the Division Series in style today, downing the visiting Milwaukee Creams at Royals Stadium by a score of 7-3 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Royals designated hitter Randy Milligan was named player of the game after he was 2 for 2 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

The Royals took a 4-0 lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. Facing Milwaukee hurler Matt Young with two outs, Milligan hit a 2-run double.

Milligan said afterward that the win gets the team one step closer to its goal.

Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow at Royals Stadium in Kansas City. Slated to start are Chris Haney for Milwaukee and Denny Neagle for Kansas City.
