Almost There: Kansas City On Cusp of DS Triumph After 3-1 Win
The Kansas City Royals moved to within one game of the League Championship today, downing the Milwaukee Creams on the road at Milwaukee County Stadium by a score of 3-1. Royals right-hander Bobby J. Jones was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 8 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives the Royals a 3-1 advantage in the best-of-7 Division Series.

Jones was in the zone all game. He frustrated Milwaukee hitters while giving the Royals 8 innings of quality work. Jones threw 115 pitches, allowing 3 hits and getting 7 punchouts.

"We have been clicking right from the start of this series, so our mission statement at the moment is just don't tinker with anything," Kansas City manager Daniel Drucker told reporters.

The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Milwaukee County Stadium. The scheduled starters for the game are Kevin Brown for the Kansas City Royals and Matt Young for the the Milwaukee Creams.
