Creams Clip Royals 2-1 in DS Contest
|
Already down in the Division Series, the Milwaukee Creams put on their best show, beating the Kansas City Royals by a final score of 2-1 today. Kevin Brown earned player of the game honors, as he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Milwaukee now trails Kansas City 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
In the bottom of the ninth, center fielder Tom Goodwin hit a run-scoring single to center. The single, which was hit off of Gregg Olson, gave Milwaukee a 2-1 lead.
"Put a star next to this win," Goodwin said.
The next game is scheduled for Wednesday at Royals Stadium in Kansas City. Slated to start are Chris Haney for Milwaukee and Denny Neagle for Kansas City.
