Division Series Goes the Distance, Cincinnati Prevails
The Cincinnati Reds are heading to the League Championship, having narrowly defeated the Kansas City Royals.

Cincinnati edged Kansas City in the series 4-3, with a win at Royals Stadium in the clinching game by a 13-8 margin.

Javy Lopez turned in a strong offensive performance for the Reds and got series MVP for his efforts.

"I'll never turn down another trophy for my mantle, another accomplishment to remember once my career is over," he said. "What I would really remember, though, is a World Series win."

It remains to be seen how the playoffs will conclude, but if Lopez continues to swing a hot bat, his team will no doubt have a chance.

For the series, he hit .379 with a .419 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 2 runs.

The Cincinnati Reds will play against the St. Louis Cardinals in the next round. St. Louis won their series against the Florida Marlins 4 games to 3. The League Championship schedule will be announced after the Division Series finishes.\n
