Expos Hammered by Burks, Drop Game 3 to Blue Jays
Riding the 2-hit performance of right fielder Ellis Burks, the Toronto Blue Jays stopped the visiting Montreal Expos, 5-1, in Game 3 of the Division Series today. Burks was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.

The Blue Jays took a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Facing Montreal hurler Jon Lieber with one out, Burks hit a 2-run home run.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Toronto manager Jose Mata.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at SkyDome in Toronto. The scheduled starters for the game are Chris Nabholz for the Montreal Expos and John Smiley for the the Toronto Blue Jays.
