Everett, Senators Sink Blue Jays Again in Game 3
|
Riding the 3-hit performance of left fielder Carl Everett, the Washington Senators got a road win against the Toronto Blue Jays, 12-3, in Game 3 of the Division Series today. Everett went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3 for the Senators, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 3 games to 0.
Alex Rodriguez in the top of the seventh had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and the Senators leading 4-3, the Washington shortstop hit a run-scoring single.
"Things broke our way today and that's great," Senators manager Alexander Cumana said. "It's important, though, to stay focused and not pat yourself on the back too much. We aren't done yet."
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Livan Hernandez for the Washington Senators and Melido Perez for the the Toronto Blue Jays.
