Hamilton Handcuffs Cardinals, Reds Seize 2-0 Advantage in CS
With starter Joey Hamilton leading the charge, the Cincinnati Reds defeated the St. Louis Cardinals, 4-2, in Game 2 of the League Championship today. The right-hander threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball at Busch Stadium to help Cincinnati take a 2-0 lead in the best-of-7 series.

Hamilton was effective for Cincinnati, seldom allowing the Cardinals to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 122 pitches over 8 innings. He limited St. Louis to just 2 runs on 4 hits.

"It's a gut punch," Cardinals manager Adam Rabel said, "to get here and find ourselves down 0-2 in the blink of an eye."

The next game is scheduled for Monday at Riverfront Stadium in Cincinnati. Slated to start are Jay Tibbs for the St. Louis Cardinals and Danny Jackson for the the Cincinnati Reds.
