The Montreal Expos got a great start from 34-year-old right-hander Roger Clemens, who earned player of the game honors today as Montreal won the contest 6-1 at Bank One Ballpark. Clemens threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball in the win, which knotted the best-of-7 series at 1-1.

Montreal used the bat of Hal Morris to get the win. The first baseman hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Expos ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.

"We had a good game plan," Clemens said, "and we were able to execute it."

The next game is set to be played Friday in Montreal. The scheduled starters for the game are Floyd Youmans for Arizona and Mark Guthrie for Montreal.
