Diamondbacks Dominate, Sweep League Championship
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the United League League Championship. It turned out quite a bit different.

\nThe Arizona Diamondbacks swept aside the Washington Senators to advance to the World Series, winning the final game by a 11-1 score at Bank One Ballpark.

The series MVP was left fielder Moises Alou, who hit .438 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 4 runs.

"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."

The Arizona Diamondbacks will play against the Cincinnati Reds in the next round. Cincinnati won their series against the St. Louis Cardinals 4 games to 0. The World Series schedule will be announced after the League Championship finishes.
