Encarnacion Helps Marlins Run Win Streak to 5
With left fielder Juan Encarnacion leading the charge, the Florida Marlins defeated the Boston Red Sox, 7-5, at Joe Robbie Stadium. Encarnacion, who is tied for 4th in the FL in home runs with 11, was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Butch Henry picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-3. He struck out 6 in 8 innings. The Red Sox, at 8-19, have stumbled out of the gate.

Bobby Bonilla had a go-ahead home run for Florida in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the slugging first baseman hit a 3-run home run off Paul Assenmacher. His 3rd home run of the season made the score 6-5.
