Rangers Win in Glorious Fashion
|
Texas Rangers starter David West pitched a strong game against the Kansas City Royals at Arlington Stadium, leading the Rangers to a 6-5 win. The Rangers raised their record to 13-15.
The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Gerald Young came to bat in the bottom of the 15th. Facing Kansas City pitcher Dave Veres, he hit a 2-2 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Texas on top, 6-5.
"This game will make a man of you," said Sean Norman, the Texas skipper, "if it doesn't kill you first."
