The Colorado Rockies got a magnificent performance from pitcher Bill Wegman, who stifled the Los Angeles offense en route to a 2-1 Rockies win at Mile High Stadium. Colorado reliever Joey Eischen picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Scott Radinsky shouldered the loss. The Dodgers fall to 13-15 and continue their uneasy start to the 1997 season.

Colorado took the lead with no one out in the bottom of the ninth when Chip Hale stroked a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1 in favor of Colorado. For the day, Hale was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.

"This place was rockin'," Wegman said.
