Garcia Leads Charge, St. Louis Blasts Cubs
St. Louis right fielder Karim Garcia made his presence felt in the 18-0 Cardinals triumph over the Chicago Cubs. Garcia hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 8. St. Louis reliever Bryce Florie picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Eric King shouldered the loss. The win brings the Cardinals to 13-16, a soft start for a team that made the playoffs just last season.

One important at-bat for St. Louis came with one out in the bottom of the first inning. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Garcia hit a 2-run triple, which contributed to the Cardinals win.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said St. Louis manager Adam Rabel.
