Victory Pushes Cardinals Record to 19-11
|
Teddy Higuera pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Chicago Cubs, despite Higuera's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium. The Cubs fall to 12-16 and continue their wobbly start to the 1995 season.
Brian S Giles, who is tied for 8th in the FL with a .396 on-base percentage, chipped in for St. Louis with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 3 RBI.
Giles called the win "a collective effort."
