Belle slugs 2 home runs, Senators Move to 21-7
|
The Washington Senators defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 8-1, at Memorial Stadium. Washington left fielder Albert Belle was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5. Dan Plesac nailed down his 1st save. Washington, at 21-7, has sizzled in the early going.
Belle hit a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth to help the Washington cause. The home run, which was hit off Ben McDonald, allowed Washington to take a 2-0 lead.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Belle.
