Felix 3-4 in Padres Win
|
The San Diego Padres knocked off the Los Angeles Dodgers, 15-9, at Dodger Stadium. Junior Felix, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason San Diego won. The right fielder went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 4 times and drove in 2. The Padres, with only their 6th win in 29 games, have not had much to write home about in 1994.
Felix contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for San Diego in the top of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Felix took a cutter from Aaron Sele and stroked the home run to right-center. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Padres to leap in front, 2-1.
"We'll savor this win," Felix told the San Diego News, "then get ready for the next game."
