Downs Sensational for Rockies
|
Colorado Rockies starter Kelly Downs kept the Oakland Athletics hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-0 win. The Athletics, at 8-21, have stumbled out of the gate.
Downs imposed his will on the Athletics, scattering 3 hits over 7.1 innings while striking out 8. The right-hander upped his season record to 3-2.
"I thought we played a nice game," Downs told the Colorado Daily News. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
