Senators Take Tight Tilt
The Washington Senators did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the New York Mets at RFK Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Kevin Millwood, who captured player of the game honors. Millwood got the win, improving to 17-7. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Millwood allowed 1 earned run. Washington now has a 3-game win streak.

The Senators beat the Mets with some clutch hitting. The home run by Albert Belle in the bottom of the third is a good example. With two down, Belle gave his team the lead, 3-1, when he came through with the big hit.

After the game, Washington manager Alexander Cumana applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
