Senators Lose to Orioles, 5-2
|
The Baltimore Orioles picked up a win at Memorial Stadium, knocking off the Washington Senators, 5-2. Starting pitcher Steve Avery, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The Orioles now own a record of 56-84.
Matt Nokes had a big 2-run double for the Orioles in the bottom of the first inning. With Baltimore leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Jim Neidlinger and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orioles ahead, 3-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Nokes said after the game.
