Rangers Use Late-Game Magic to Beat White Sox
|
The Texas Rangers racked up a win at Arlington Stadium, bumping off the Chicago White Sox, 3-2. Kenny Rogers, who started for Texas, pitched effectively for his team. Texas is 60-80 and Chicago, with the loss, 49-90.
In the bottom of the ninth, Texas right fielder Kirby Puckett had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 2nd and two out, Puckett stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-2, Texas. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Exhilarating win," said Rogers.
