The Orlando Devil Rays did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Cincinnati Reds at Riverfront Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Randy Tomlin, who captured player of the game honors. In 7.1 innings, Tomlin surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. He allowed 2 runs. Frank DiPino was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 23 save opportunities.

Ron Jones aided the Orlando cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the center fielder was 1 for 2 with 2 walks.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Orlando manager Ben Tennyson.

The Devil Rays bumped their record to 75-67 with this latest triumph.
