Rangers Sneak Past White Sox, 4-3
|
The Texas Rangers picked up a win at Arlington Stadium, knocking off the Chicago White Sox, 4-3. Starting pitcher Angel Miranda, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The 4th-place Rangers lifted their record to 61-80.
John Kruk was 1-5 for Texas. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the 12th inning, Kruk, who finished 3rd in the UL in runs with 99 in 1989, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Chicago hurler Ralph Citarella, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Rangers a 4-3 lead.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Sean Norman, the Texas manager.
