Athletics Win at Seattle, 7-6
|
Spirited fans at Kingdome greeted the Seattle Pilots for their clash with the Oakland Athletics.
Jay Buhner helped his team muscle past the Seattle Pilots, 7-6. In the game, the Oakland right fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Bobby M Jones picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-11. He struck out 5 in 5.1 innings.
John Olerud contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a sacrifice fly. It was one at-bat that propelled Oakland to the win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Buhner said.
With the win, the Athletics have a record of 64-77.
