Rockies Raise Rally Flag, Beat Arizona, 4-2
|
The Arizona Diamondbacks got a superb performance from pitcher Chris Holt, but the Colorado Rockies still won the game, 4-2. Holt was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Colorado bumps their record to 58-83 with the win.
The most critical at-bat came in the top of the ninth inning. With one out, Bob Hamelin hit a 2-1 slider from Marvin Freeman for a grand slam home run. It put Colorado in front, 4-2.
"I felt we were ready to go," said Colorado manager JD Morris. "Our pregame was pretty good."
