White Sox Turn Back Kansas City, 3-2
|
The Chicago White Sox topped the Kansas City Royals, 3-2, in Federal League action at Comiskey Park. The player of the game was Chicago pitcher and Puerto Rico native Jaime Navarro. Navarro got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Navarro allowed 2 earned runs. Mike J Grace notched his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Tony Batista went 1 for 1 for Chicago. The top prospect had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Denny Neagle. It was his 26th RBI of the season.
"We found a way to get it done," Batista said.
Chicago is now 63-80, while Kansas City is 89-53.
