Twins Come Up Short at St. Louis
|
The St. Louis Cardinals racked up a win at Busch Stadium, bumping off the Minnesota Twins, 2-1. Miguel Batista, who started for St. Louis, pitched effectively for his team. The Twins have now dropped 5 straight.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Tim Raines, who led the FL in stolen bases with 114 in 1985, hit a single. The Cardinals went on to win.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Batista said.
