Marlins Continue Hot Start to Season With Win
The Florida Marlins relied on the hitting of right fielder Rondell White to stop the Charlotte Knights, 5-4. For the game, White was 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Paul Byrd got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. The Marlins, now 20-10, have been red hot.

White put Florida up, 5-4, when he hit a 2-run home run off Greg Mathews in the bottom of the sixth. His 7th home run of the season helped the Marlins capture the win.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Florida manager Stephen Ginter. "It's usually not just one thing."
