Spiders Stymie New York, Take 6-1 Win
|
Roger Pavlik pitched a gem to lead Cleveland to a 6-1 victory over the New York Yankees. Pavlik went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 0, and struck out 11. His record improves to 11-13. The Spiders' win now puts them at 64-80.
One significant at-bat for Cleveland came with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third. Spiders third baseman Kevin Mitchell grounded out, driving in 1 run, which helped Cleveland go on to win.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Pavlik.
