|
The Charlotte Knights and Minnesota Twins played a tight game at Comiskey Park, with the hosts claiming the hard-fought win.
The Charlotte Knights got a magnificent effort from pitcher Tony Saunders, who kept Minnesota hitters in check en route to a 3-1 Knights win at Comiskey Park. Tim Burke earned his 20th save in 23 chances.
The Knights had to work out of trouble in the top of the sixth. The score was 3-0, Charlotte, with one out. Minnesota, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Koji Akiyama dug in at the plate, but on a full count fastball, he grounded out.
Charlotte now has a 3-game win streak.
