DeLeon Dominant in Detroit Win
The Detroit Tigers eked out a 2-1 win versus the Washington Senators at Tiger Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jose DeLeon, who captured player of the game honors. Xavier Hernandez earned his 29th save in 32 chances. The Tigers go to 66-78, putting them 5th in the United League East Division.

DeLeon, the winner, is now 7-19. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 earned run on 3 hits, while collecting 12 Ks. He essentially shut down the Washington offense.

"Getting ahead of the hitters was the key," said DeLeon.
