Walk-Off Seals 84th Victory for Expos
|
The Montreal Expos topped the Detroit Tigers, 6-3, in United League action at Olympic Stadium. The player of the game was Montreal pitcher and Springfield, Massachusetts native Jeff Fassero. Montreal reliever Ken Howell was the winner. His record is now 9-4. Tony Fossas took the loss. Montreal leads the United League East Division by 5½ games.
Montreal took a 6-3 lead on Todd Hundley's 52nd home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Detroit pitcher Tony Fossas in the bottom of the ninth.
"Our guys are never satisfied," said Montreal manager David Polakoff.
