Dodgers Jolt Padres with Late Rally
San Diego pitcher Ismael Valdez gave the Dodgers all they could handle, but in the end, Los Angeles left Dodger Stadium with a 5-4 win. Valdez allowed 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 7 innings. Scott Radinsky was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 35 of 37 save opportunities. The third-place Dodgers improved to 70-75.

Kevin Stocker went 1-2 for Los Angeles. The 26-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Robb Nen. It was his 40th RBI of the season.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Stocker told the Los Angeles Daily.
