Devil Rays Fall Short at Boston
Fans who gathered at Fenway Park saw a good contest between the Boston Red Sox and Orlando Devil Rays.

The Red Sox had to overcome a fine performance from Orlando pitcher John Smoltz to grab a 6-5 win at Fenway Park. Smoltz allowed 4 earned runs over 7 innings. Boston is now 53-92.

One significant plate appearance for Boston came with one out in the bottom of the ninth inning. Red Sox designated hitter Rusty Greer hit a walk-off run-scoring single, which helped Boston go on to win.

"We saved our best for last," said Greer.
