Tom Glavine Blanks Baltimore
Tom Glavine of the New York Mets spun his magic on the Baltimore Orioles today. He blanked them 8-0 on 6 hits, registering 8 strikeouts and no walks.

"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Glavine said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."

Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, New York skipper Michael Kritikos said the team "got solid pitching, good defense and took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations."

"Tom pitched really well but this was a solid performance by everyone," he said.

In 30 starts this season, Glavine has picked up 15 wins while suffering 9 losses. He has pitched 215.2 innings, allowed 201 hits, struck out 152 and posted a 3.38 ERA.
