Rockies Lose to Athletics, 3-1

It was a good time at Oakland Coliseum, where fans came to watch the Colorado Rockies and Oakland Athletics get after it.
The Oakland Athletics got a stellar performance from pitcher Jason Bere, who handcuffed the Colorado offense en route to a 3-1 win at Oakland Coliseum. Oakland now sits at 51-94, while Colorado falls to 59-86.
John Olerud brought the hometown crowd to its feet with no one out in the bottom of the first. That's when the three-time Gold Glove winner belted a 2-run home run. With the round-tripper, the Athletics took the lead, 2-0.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Olerud.
