Multi-HR Game for Clark in 8-4 Win
|
The Toronto Blue Jays relied on the hitting of first baseman Will Clark to stop the Montreal Expos, 8-4. For the game, Clark slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 4. The Blue Jays bumped their record to 84-62 with this latest triumph.
The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Mike Gallego came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Montreal pitcher Dave Leiper, he hit a 2-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Toronto on top, 5-4.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Clark said. "We did a good job of that today."
