Greer Hits 2 home runs in Red Sox Win
|
The Boston Red Sox bested the Milwaukee Creams, 4-2, at Fenway Park. Rusty Greer was named player of the game. He went 2 for 3 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Paul Assenmacher got the save, his 5th in 9 chances. Boston is 5th in the Federal League East Division with a record of 58-90.
Greer came through with some timely hitting for Boston. With the score 2-2 in the bottom of the fifth and no one down, Greer hit a 2-2 curveball for a 2-run home run. His 4th home run of the season made it 4-2, Boston.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Greer told the Boston Chronicle.
