6 Straight Wins for Senators
|
The Washington Senators got a strong performance from pitcher Livan Hernandez, who stymied the San Diego offense en route to a 9-2 win at Jack Murphy Stadium. Washington has now won 6 straight.
Washington used the bat of Willie Greene to get the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Senators ahead, 6-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"The vibe's good," said Washington manager Alexander Cumana. "We've got to keep it going."
