The Chicago White Sox managed to get by the Cincinnati Reds, 4-3, at Riverfront Stadium. Chicago pitcher Jaime Navarro took player of the game honors. Chicago reliever Mike J Grace picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-6. Felix Heredia was collared with the loss. After today's action, Chicago sits at 66-82, while Cincinnati falls to 83-66.
Mark Carreon, who finished 4th in the FL in extra base hits with 75 in 1990, aided the Chicago cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the 14th. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-6 with a double.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Carreon.
