Ken Griffey Jr. did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Seattle Pilots from losing, 9-7, to the Toronto Blue Jays at SkyDome. Griffey Jr. went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Toronto reliever Jim Corsi picked up the win, upping his record to 5-1. Cliff Brantley was saddled with the loss. Steve Shirley was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 28 of 33 save opportunities.

The Blue Jays extended their lead in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and a runner on 1st, Dante Bichette hit a 2-run home run to make it 8-3, Toronto.

"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Bichette.

Toronto has a 3-game win streak, while Seattle has lost 3 in a row.
