Diamondbacks Top Orioles to Even Record
|
Arizona designated hitter Bobby M Estalella was instrumental in his team's 6-4 win over the Baltimore Orioles. Estalella, who is on pace to hit 41 home runs this season, went 1-2 with 3 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Diamondbacks. Scott Karl went 7.1 innings for Arizona to pick up the win. The left-hander was charged with 4 earned runs. He scattered 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 4. His record improves to 3-8. The second-place Diamondbacks have won 4 straight.
Robin Ventura was 1-2 with a walk, while adding 3 RBI for Arizona. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Ventura had a clutch at-bat. Facing Baltimore hurler Russ Springer, he hit a 2-run single to give the Diamondbacks a 6-4 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Estalella told the Arizona Herald. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
