Padres Lose to Senators, 5-2
|
Washington right-hander Kevin Millwood made an effective start against the San Diego Padres at Jack Murphy Stadium, leading his team to a 5-2 win. Washington has now won 7 games in a row.
One significant plate appearance for Washington came with no one out in the top of the seventh inning. Senators center fielder Jon Nunnally hit a double, which helped Washington go on to win.
Millwood pitched well, despite being a bit under the weather. "To be honest, I was sick before the game," he said. "Just a stomach bug."
