Making an impact for Boston was third baseman Mike Blowers. He drilled a 2-run double in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Blowers went 1 for 2 with a double and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Blowers told the Boston Chronicle.
