Senators Get Past Seattle for 3-2 Win
Washington beat Seattle at RFK Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Andy Pettitte, who earned player of the game honors. Troy Percival got credit for the win, improving to 6-3. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Washington improves to 92-57 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.

Washington took a 3-2 lead on Felix Jose's 51st hit of the season. The run-scoring single, which Jose hit in the bottom of the ninth, left Seattle pitcher Darren Holmes visibly frustrated.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Pettitte said.
