Expos Get Past San Diego for 2-1 Win
|
The San Diego Padres got a superb performance from pitcher Rick Krivda, but the Montreal Expos still won the game, 2-1. Krivda was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. The first-place Expos have won 12 in a row.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Montreal shortstop Jose Hernandez, facing Robb Nen, had a run-scoring ground out. It gave the Expos the 2-1 win.
"We found a way to get it done," Hernandez said.
