Senators Stay Hot, Beat Rockies
|
The Washington Senators got a stellar effort from pitcher Andy Pettitte, helping Washington score a 4-1 win over the visiting Colorado Rockies. The second-place Senators have won 9 consecutive games.
The Senators beat the Rockies with some clutch hitting. The single by Eric Davis in the bottom of the first is a good example. With two down, Davis gave his team the lead, 1-0, when he came through with the big hit.
"You score one run, you're not going to win," said Colorado skipper . "You can have three Koufaxes and three Drysdales, you're still not going to win."
