Clemens Now 5-1 After Subduing Rockies
|
The Montreal Expos picked up a win at Olympic Stadium, knocking off the Colorado Rockies, 2-0. Starting pitcher Roger Clemens was an essential part of his team's success. Montreal, now 89-62, holds second place in the United League East Division.
Clemens dominated for Montreal, raising his record to 5-1. Colorado hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 2 hits over 8 innings while striking out 4.
"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Montreal manager David Polakoff.
